Imre Feher
Biography
Imre Feher has born in 1966 in Budapest Hungary. Despite showing talents in art during his youth, it was not until later in life that he began his formal art studies under Jozsef Horvath, and later with Margit Kranitz and Gabor Bellak. In 2016, he opened his own Gallery in Zamardi, Lake Balaton, from where he continues to paint and also has a permanent exhibition of his works. Imre continues the European tradition of Panel painting, a medium which was popular until the 16th century after which canvas became more popular. Panel painting dates back to the 6th century BC, and many famous artists such as Rubens preferred it over canvas as greater precision could be achieved with its rigid structure. The construction of the panels is a very complicated process, and it is one which Imre prepares himself in his Galleries workshop.
His subject matter is nature, rivers, architecture and landscape, and he draws inspiration from Impressionism and Realism. He has had exhibitions at various Galleries in Budapest, most notably the Karpati Gallery, and the Zichy Galeria. Imre’s art works are in collections throughout Hungary, Austria, France, Australia and Hong Kong.
